New politicians, same ideologies

Today, the people of Ecuador will be choosing two candidates for the upcoming presidential election. The second election day will determine who will be the president for the next two years. Although the candidates have different ideologies, they seem to be following similar campaign strategies and doctrines from previous years.

The upcoming decision will either involve returning to past policies or continuing with the current approach. At the same time, the nation is dealing with one of the most complicated situations since the outbreak of the pandemic. The challenges that the next president will have to tackle during their term in office include rising crime rates, drug trafficking, security concerns, education, and the economy.

The run toward this election has been covered with blood and dirty campaigns, and it is the most violent run election ever. The candidates have been occupied with remarking on the contender's failures instead of explaining their government plans.

During their speeches, politicians rarely discuss their strategies and plans, resulting in a noticeable lack of substantial arguments. In the lead-up to the election day, political advertising flooded social media platforms in a last-ditch effort to sway the votes of the undecided population.

At the end of the day, the country will have a new president. Time will tell if they are good or bad.
