Sometimes is better to listen 👂🏻📃
Yesterday, I had another job interview. Since I'd had no response from my last one, I decided not to worry about my first contact with possible jobs that day. So, I decided to focus on exercise after morning programming.
While I was exercising, I realised that I was late, so immediately finishing my exercise routine, I turned on my laptop and waited. Here I go again, I thought. I'll see what's coming now.
Surprisingly, the interviewer was much more friendly than my other experiences. He asked me about my background, including my college background and my latest job experiences. While I related my history, he showed interest in what I said and asked interesting questions without interrupting me. I could describe my past experiences in detail.
I overlooked the time because the interview was more like a talk than an interrogatory; that was a good green flag I hadn't seen in a job interview for a while. Maybe I screwed up when I told him about my last experience and why I decided to resign; I was honest, but I wrote before sometimes being honest is not a good idea.
He nodded and told me about the company, its background, and its labour. He offered me a good salary if I agreed with that and told me they would be in touch if I advanced to the next stage.
The secret of a good conversation is learning to hear what the person in front of you has to say, which is a good approach to the person and a sign of a good education. The next time I'll talk with someone, I'll decide to hear more than I talk.
