Inflation and lack of products
One of the disadvantages of living in a city near the country's border can be the expense and scarcity of some products, especially the first necessity stuff. Compared with other cities, this town has the country's most costly cost of living.
Added to the lack of industry and production, the main food markets and local stores must import most of their products to compensate for the absence of stock. This increases the cost of food, not to mention the cost of some living as many services and products.
Lately, scarcity has struggled with poultry and dairy products, increasing the cost and demand for some daily products. Consequently, many farmers, food producers and intermediaries have been speculating on their prices, reaching new prices almost weekly.
This has a significant impact on the local economy, which has seen an increased cost of living in the last few years; added to the lack of jobs, the absence of regulator organisms, delinquency and mendicity generate the disorder and discomfort of most of the population.
Implementing control organisms that act in consumer defence has to be a priority, especially to solve the speculation and avoid the unjustified increase in food and other first necessity items.
