The competition day 🎽🙆🏻‍♂️

As I said in a previous blog, I will be running for the first time after a long stop due to injuries and the pandemic event among other circumstances, so finally the main day came to arrive and it was a sunny and agreeable day, there were a lot of people expecting for the starting race and many of them as me were running after a long time.

I felt calm and relaxing, my friend and I were doing exercises for stretching and previous warm-up before the race begins. The ambient was relaxed and felt like another day but on this occasion we were to run in the streets of our city, crossing from the south to the north.

When the race started at 8 am, many people went out quickly and with a fast pace, I knew that one of the keys to avoiding dropping my endurance throughout the race was to keep my pace until the last kilometer. So, I kept calm and I continued with my tempo, until the 3rd kilometer, many of the people who had to go out quickly now were exhausted  I take advantage of this and was passing one to one.

But, when I was in the 4th kilometer, I lost the reference of where the race goes, and I confused the route going to another street, I realized this, and alongside other competitors returned quickly to the route again, now I had to recover that time had loosed, so I ran as quickly as possible, the last 1.5 kilometers were hard but I was determined to recovering my position.

Once I completed the race, I took my watch to see my tempo, it marked under 23 minutes, I was exciting, but I knew that I could have done better, but the time that I lost when I confused the route ended for costing a few minutes, I think.

To run after a long time and have done one of my best tempos. It was a pleasant experience. I hope that the organizers of this event did more events like this in the future.
