July Recap

This month has flown by quickly, but it has been filled with key events and interesting memories that I want to document before my upcoming trip. The month started with one of the final races leading up to my half marathon. I traveled to another city to participate in a 10k competition. I felt confident heading into this race because I had trained hard enough to run it without any complications. Although it was a new experience, it wasn't my first time running in a different location; I had successfully completed the same distance a year ago. This time, I finished the race in under 50 minutes, which was a significant milestone for me, especially considering the race took place at an altitude of nearly 2,800 meters above sea level. Over the past few weeks, we finally purchased our plane tickets to our destination. After several days of planning, we created a solid travel itinerary that includes visits to some great places, with one of our last stops being a reunion with my old colle...

Last Details Before the Trip

During this past month, I have been preparing for my upcoming adventures. I spent time defining my travel calendar as we get ready to travel abroad.  As you can imagine, the most significant expense has been the plane tickets. So far, we have booked nearly five different flights, which isn't surprising since we will be visiting multiple countries over the next six weeks. We plan to visit five different countries, so I made sure all my personal documents are up-to-date. For some travel destinations, having a vaccination record is essential, while for others, it’s just important to be aware of currency exchange rates and similar details. Fortunately, I managed to save some money from my last paychecks. While I feel the amount I saved will cover most of my expenses, it's always wise to have some extra funds set aside for unexpected situations. Sorting out accommodation and meals will be another challenge. Since the pandemic, I haven't been away from home for extended period...

Time for another race!

Last week, I traveled to another city to participate in a 10k race. It was my second time competing away from my hometown. The last race I ran was in February last year, where I achieved a good time, although my focus at the time was mainly on improving my strength and training at home. This time, I aimed to beat my previous time, especially considering that the next race would take place in a city located almost 2,800 meters above sea level. My preparation included a mix of running days combined with strength training at the gym. I also brought a new pair of shoes designed for long distances, making this event the perfect opportunity to test them out. Competition day arrived, and I flew to the city with some friends and their families. Upon arrival, I felt grateful for the experience ahead; the race was scheduled to start at night, allowing us to rest and eat during the day. As the race neared, we made our way to the starting area, where hundreds of runners were warming up, eagerly wa...
